About the Role

We are a confectionery company founded over 20 years ago. Our plant, based in Walkerville, has been in operation for 16 years.

We are looking for a highly skilled individual who can work in a fast-growing environment in an organized, intelligent manner.

Most importantly, we seek someone enthusiastic to be part of the Walkerville Plant team.

The role's purpose is to provide day-to-day HR administrative support and contribute to the long-term development of the HR function.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the HR Manager in creating a conducive business environment to meet business objectives by ensuring sound employee relationships, high productivity, low absenteeism, low labor turnover, and reduced abuse of sick leave benefits.
  • Assist in planning ongoing personnel needs in coordination with various departments (recruitment and selection).
  • Monthly upload of salaried employee data into SAP (engagements, terminations, promotions, changes, absenteeism, injury stats, etc.).
  • Ensure C&B policies and practices align with group and local policies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely employee payroll administration in liaison with external payroll providers.
  • Manage workforce planning, review management reports, and update organizational charts.
  • Support HR planning activities such as headcount management and recruitment.

Who we are looking for

  • National Diploma / Degree in Human Resource Management.
  • 2-3 years of HR experience, preferably in FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge of various HR disciplines.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • SAP / SAGE experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent HR administration and payroll skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Competency-based profiling, screening, and interview techniques.
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
