Job summary

Synergy Jobs is seeking a Group Accountant to join a Sandton-based finance team. The role consolidates financial statements for multiple group entities under IFRS, performs budgeting and forecasting analyses, and delivers insights to senior management in a hybrid work setting.

The ideal candidate holds a CA(SA) or CIMA, has at least five years in group accounting or consolidation, and is proficient with consolidation software and advanced Excel. 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA) is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in group accounting or consolidation.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and consolidation principles.
• Proficiency with consolidation software and advanced Excel.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate financial statements for all group entities in accordance with group policies and IFRS.
• Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of consolidated budgets and forecasts for the group.
• Perform detailed financial analysis of group performance, identifying trends and providing commentary.
