Job summary

Pedros Chicken in South Africa is hiring a Junior Full-Stack Software Engineer to grow into a modern, TypeScript-based platform powering vouchers, POS integration, and customer-facing apps across our franchise network. You will work under mentorship on well-scoped tasks, write tests, review code, and contribute to a shared component library, gaining hands-on experience across API and React front-ends.

Qualifications

0–2 years of professional or internship web development experience.
Foundational knowledge of at least one strongly-typed language and interest in TypeScript.
Basic understanding of HTTP, REST APIs, and SQL relational databases.
Exposure to a component-based frontend framework and modern JS/TS tooling.
Familiarity with Git workflows and willingness to learn code review and testing.

Responsibilities

Build and ship features across frontend and backend from clear tickets with guidance.
Implement API endpoints and UI components following established patterns.
Write clean, tested code and participate in code reviews.
Contribute to and maintain shared UI components for consistent UX.
Assist with deployments, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting with the team.
Document work clearly and raise questions early; seek help when needed.
Collaborate with product and operations to translate requirements into software.
