Job description

We are looking for a Junior Fraud Investigator to join our Fraud Department group, as we scale up and drive digital and financial inclusion across our markets.

As a Junior Fraud Investigator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring diligence and accountability by conducting fraud investigations and collaborating with teams to develop proactive strategies. You will support the enforcement of disciplinary measures, liaise with law enforcement on confirmed fraud cases, and provide actionable insights to enhance fraud prevention and business operations.

About Us

At M-KOPA, we are committed to driving digital and financial inclusion across our markets, and as a Junior Fraud Investigator, you will be at the forefront of this mission. You will be empowered to conduct detailed fraud investigations and develop proactive fraud detection strategies, ensuring the integrity of our operations. You’ll work closely with the Legal and Fraud teams, and collaborate with law enforcement to address and resolve confirmed fraud cases. Your role is crucial in supporting the enforcement of disciplinary actions and providing actionable insights that drive improvements in fraud prevention processes. If you’re passionate about protecting the integrity of a fast-growing company and thrive in a role where no two days are the same, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Expertise

We expect candidates to have a strong background in fraud investigation and the ability to work independently in both field and desktop environments. You should be comfortable interacting with multiple stakeholders, including law enforcement, customers, and sales teams. The role requires a proactive mindset and a professional approach to handling sensitive fraud cases while adhering to set timelines.

Candidates must possess a Fraud-related certification (e.g., Certified Fraud Examiner - CFE), along with 2-3 years of experience in investigations or a related field. A solid understanding of criminal justice systems and experience working directly with law enforcement agencies are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) are also required.

If you are someone who is passionate about ensuring integrity in operations and eager to contribute to a mission of financial inclusion, you will find this role both rewarding and challenging.
