We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Financial Manager. Do you think you have what it takes to be our newest Purple Star? In this role, you’ll support the Finance Team by guiding team members such as Creditors, Debtors, Bookkeepers, Interns, and Junior Accountants. You’ll assist with financial reports, implement controls, maintain monthly records, and provide insights into financial performance.

You Bring:
  • At least 2 years of commercial experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Pastel Evolution or similar accounting software.
Bonus To Have:
  • BCom or CIMA degree with Articles.
What You’ll Do for The Brand:
  • Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and collaborate with FM and Group FM for approvals.
  • Set monthly deadlines for management accounts, working papers, VAT, etc.
  • Review and submit management accounts, including analysis and commentary.
  • Review high-risk balance sheet reconciliations and monthly working papers.
  • Review monthly VAT reconciliations.
  • Approve payments and ensure accurate invoice capture, maintaining compliance with IFRS and tax regulations.
  • Prepare quarterly reports for the board and committees.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits.
  • Engage with departments and regional managers for efficient reporting.
  • Approve non-routine transactions such as depreciation, impairments, and provisions.
  • Review payroll reconciliations and team payments.
  • Manage inter-company accounts and ensure timely settlements.
  • Drive improvements in supplier terms.
  • Identify and implement internal controls to address weaknesses.
  • Maintain asset registers and review depreciation and residual values quarterly.
  • Review asset disposals and stock variances.
  • Approve petty cash expenses and ensure reconciliations.
  • Reconcile inter-company balances monthly.
  • Support BEE initiatives and ensure compliance with procurement targets and BEE certification.
  • Assist with projects, reports, and data extraction.
  • Collaborate with other Junior Financial Managers on group initiatives.
  • Review group betting taxes and oversee new product platforms.
  • Perform any additional ad hoc tasks as required.

  • Supervise and mentor the Finance team.
  • Create roles, job descriptions, and KPIs for team members, including performance reviews.

  • Promote transparency regarding gifts, conflicts of interest, and confidentiality.
Compliance, Risk, and Quality
  • Attend training sessions and maintain process documentation.
  • Ensure proper saving and backup of all work and documents.
  • Create high-quality, logical, and easy-to-understand financial templates and models.
  • Ensure all documentation is properly named and stored for audits and investigations.
