Job description

Winning Form has an exciting opportunity available for a Junior Financial Manager based in Umhlanga, Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding team members such as Creditors, Debtors, Bookkeepers, Interns, and Junior Accountants. You’ll assist with financial reports, implement controls, maintain monthly records, and provide insights into financial performance.

Minimum requirements:

  • 2 years of commercial experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Pastel Evolution or similar accounting software

Advantageous:

  • BCom/CIMA degree with Articles (preferred)

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of annual budgets and collaborate with FM and Group FM for approvals
  • Set monthly deadlines for management accounts, working papers, VAT, etc.
  • Review and submit management accounts with analysis and commentary
  • Review high-risk balance sheet reconciliations and monthly working papers
  • Review monthly VAT reconciliations
  • Approve payments and ensure accurate invoice capturing, compliance with IFRS and tax regulations
  • Prepare quarterly reports for boards and committees
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits
  • Communicate with departments and managers for efficient reporting
  • Approve non-routine transactions and payroll reconciliations
  • Manage inter-company accounts and ensure timely settlements
  • Drive improvements in supplier terms and internal controls
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and review asset depreciation and disposals
  • Review stock variances and petty cash expenses
  • Reconcile inter-company balances monthly
  • Support BEE initiatives and maintain BEE certificates
  • Assist with special projects and group initiatives
  • Oversee new products/platforms and perform ad hoc tasks
