Job summary

Eskort (Pty) Ltd in Gauteng seeks a capable financial accounting professional to support management reporting, accounting processes and regulatory compliance.

The role includes month-end journals, reconciliations, CAPEX, VAT and tax calculations, and contributing to audits, with responsibilities spanning general administration and internal control enhancements.

Qualifications

• Must have Grade 12 (Matric Certificate).
• Tertiary qualification or studying towards degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Accredited with SAIPA, CIMA, SAICA.
• Proven experience in a financial environment.
• 2+ years post articles experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month end journals, reconciliations and trial balance review.
• Prepare monthly working file, Income Statement and Balance Sheets.
• Provide accurate Dimension Reports feedback to factory General Managers.
• Report rebates to Sales teams accurately.
• Load payments, transfers and beneficiaries on online banking.
• Capture/post journals on SAGE Evolution.
• Issue CAPEX numbers and load CAPEX payments.
• Assist in compiling management accounts up to audit level for smaller group companies.
• Handle VAT, Income Tax and Provisional Tax calculations and submissions.
• Manage insurance claims and related tasks.
• Oversee Quantum Lean benchmarks and related tasks.
• Support adhoc tasks communicated by supervisors / Financial Manager.

JOB ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric Certificate).
• Tertiary Qualification or studying towards a degree in Accounting, Finance or any related field.
• Accredited with SAIPA, CIMA, SAICA.

Experience

• Proven experience in a financial environment.
• 2 or more year’s post article experience.

Knowledge Required

• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, laws, and regulations.
• Experience with Accounting Software (SAGE Evolution, Meat Matrix knowledge will be beneficial)

Skills Required

• Established proficiency in Microsoft 365 office suite with an emphasis on MS Excel.
• Effective communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Ability to prioritise work and very good organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPA'S)

1. Management Reporting

• Assist with month end journals, reconciliations and trial balance review.
• Preperation of monthly working file. Income Statement and Balance Sheets.

2. Dimension Reports

• Accurate reporting and feedback to factory General Managers.
• Accurate reporting to sales with regards to rebates.

3. General Administration

• Assist with loading payments, transfers, beneficiaries on the online banking platform.
• Capture/post journals on SAGE Evolution.

4. CAPEX

• Issue CAPEX numbers, load CAPEX payments, filing, import machinery bought from foreign countries, apply for LOC application, load Foreign payments and beneficiaries.

5. Management Accounts

• Compile management accounts of smaller group companies up until auditing level.

6. SARS

• VAT, Income Tax and Provisional Tax calculations and submissions.

7. Insurance

• Manage insurance claims and the administration of any insurance related tasks.

8. Quantum Lean

• Management of Quantum Lean Benchmarks and delegation of the tasks related.

9. Adhoc Tasks

• Any adhoc tasks as communicated by Account Section Supervisor / Financial Manager.
• Assisting with audit related tasks.
