Junior Finance Manager
Location: Cape Town (Hybrid: 2-3 days in-office)
Reports to: Financial Controller
Working Hours: UK working hours (10:00-19:00 SAST during BST, 11:00-20:00 SAST during GMT)

We're Houst, a global short-term rental management company with a presence in 20+ cities worldwide. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Junior Finance Manager to support our finance operations across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

This is a great opportunity for a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA, SAICA or equivalent) with experience in management accounting, financial reporting, and day-to-day finance operations. You'll report directly to our Financial Controller and play a key role in delivering accurate reporting, supporting compliance, managing cash flow, and driving financial insights across the business.

What you'll do

1. Financial Reporting & Control

  • Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts
  • Assist with month-end close, reconciliations, and consolidations across multiple entities
  • Deliver variance analysis and insights to support decision-making
  • Ensure financial accuracy across P&L, balance sheet and cash flow

2. Transactional Finance & Cash Flow
  • Oversee daily AP/AR activities and customer/supplier reconciliations
  • Support cash flow forecasting, payment runs, and bank reconciliations
  • Work closely with our internal teams to resolve issues and maintain smooth operations

3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with the FP&A function
  • Monitor departmental spend and highlight areas of concern or opportunity
  • Provide financial insights to various departments to support performance and cost control

4. Compliance & Process Improvement
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP and local tax requirements
  • Maintain internal controls and support audit readiness
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities

Requirements
What we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (must-have)
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA, SAICA or equivalent)
  • 2-4 years' experience in a finance or management accounting role
  • Comfortable working in a multi-entity or international environment
  • Confident in Excel and finance systems (Xero experience preferred)
  • Proactive, organised, and comfortable handling a variety of finance tasks
