Position: Junior Engineer - Mechanical Engineering

About the role: We are seeking a Junior Engineer specializing in Mechanical Engineering to support our manufacturing processes at Isando. The successful candidate will provide technical support to production, assist in engineering projects, and ensure the manufacturing of quality products.

Responsibilities:
  1. Technical Process Support: Industrialize and maintain product processes, gather data, analyze trends, and support production and engineering projects.
  2. Machine Reliability & Operations: Ensure machine reliability, monitor operations, and implement corrective actions to maintain product quality.
  3. Quality & Compliance: Control scrap, ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, and maintain GMP and FSSC standards.
  4. Inventory & Resource Management: Manage technical supplies and equipment inventory, and procure necessary materials.
  5. Health & Safety: Enforce health and safety standards, maintain cleanliness, report hazards, and ensure safe working conditions.
  6. Training & Development: Train teams on best practices, assist in implementing new systems, and promote continuous self and team development.
  7. General Tasks: Lead by example, communicate effectively, and perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Grade 12 and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2-5 years relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of drawings, fault finding, processes, and equipment.
  • Skills in installation, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project management.
  • Interest in packaging and environmental awareness.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must reside in Gauteng and be able to travel easily to Isando.
  • Strong decision-making, accountability, and communication skills.
