Placements24 is seeking a Junior Electrical Engineer to join our industrial automation team in Gauteng. You will assist with design, development, and implementation of automated systems for manufacturing processes, and work with senior engineers to gain hands-on PLC and HMI experience.

The role emphasizes learning, on-site testing, and collaboration with production staff to ensure seamless electrical integration across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
• 0–3 years of experience in electrical engineering or automation.
• Familiarity with PLC software (Siemens TIA Portal, RSLogix) is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and specification of electrical control panels, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Support the programming and troubleshooting of PLCs and HMIs.
• Participate in installation, testing, and commissioning of automation systems at client sites.
• Conduct root cause analysis for electrical and automation system failures and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and production staff to ensure integration of electrical components.
• Maintain project documentation, including design changes, test results, and user manuals.
