Job summary

A renewable energy consulting company in Pretoria is seeking an Electrical Engineering graduate to assist in designing and reviewing electrical layouts for solar PV systems. This role involves supporting senior engineers with technical drawings and participating in the installation of solar projects. The ideal candidate should have strong software skills, fluency in Afrikaans and English, and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in design software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (required).

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist with designing and reviewing basic electrical layouts for solar PV systems.
• Support senior engineers in preparing technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Help with site assessments, data collection, and system performance monitoring.
• Participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning of solar projects under supervision.
• Perform basic calculations (e.g., load, voltage drop, cable sizing) with guidance.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving minor electrical issues on-site.
• Maintain project documentation, reports, and records.
• Stay up to date with solar technologies, safety standards, and electrical codes.

Qualifications & Experience :

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong proficiency in design software such as PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English (required).
• Understanding of relevant local electrical standards, grid connection regulations, and solar industry best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into technically sound and commercially viable solutions.
