Job summary

Business Recruitment Services is seeking an Electrical Engineer to prepare and implement electrical designs for renewable energy and infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and standards.

The role involves developing MV collector-system designs, assisting with substation primary plant designs, and producing diagrams, calculations and reports while coordinating with project engineers and site teams.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or diploma (exact qualification level required).
• Exposure to power distribution or renewable energy projects is a plus.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and electrical calculations.
• Familiarity with electrical CAD/design software.
• Knowledge of relevant SANS and IEC standards.
• Strong analytical and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare conceptual and detailed electrical designs for renewable energy projects.
• Develop medium-voltage collector-system designs, including underground cables and overhead lines.
• Assist with IPP substation primary plant designs.
• Perform earthing analysis using engineering software.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, schematics, equipment layouts and technical drawings.
• Produce calculations and engineering reports.
• Coordinate designs with project engineers and site teams.
• Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning.
