Job summary

Network Finance seeks a Junior Draughtsman to join its technical design team and build a career in engineering design and drafting with exposure to diverse projects.

Key responsibilities include preparing drawings, assisting engineers, updating revisions, and ensuring standards compliance, using AutoCAD and related software. The role requires Grade 12 and a Draughting qualification with 0–2 years’ drafting experience.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Draughting qualification such as N6 Mechanical/Electrical Draughting, National Certificate, Diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years’ relevant drafting experience; internships and graduate experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate engineering drawings, layouts, schematics and design documentation.
• Assist engineers and senior draughtsmen with design and drafting activities.
• Update and revise drawings in line with engineering changes and project requirements.
• Ensure drawings comply with relevant engineering standards, specifications and company procedures.
• Assist with the preparation of drawing registers and technical documentation.
• Interpret engineering sketches, specifications and design information.
• Maintain accurate drawing files and revision control.
• Liaise with engineers and other technical team members to resolve drawing-related queries.
• Support the project team with general drafting and design requirements.
• Ensure all drawings are completed accurately and within project deadlines.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential.
• Experience with Revit, Plant 3D, EPLAN or other engineering design software will be advantageous.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings, symbols and standards.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Good mathematical and technical aptitude.
• Valid South African driver's licence will be advantageous.
