Junior Draughtsman

Job Description:

Are you a skilled Junior Draughtsman with a passion for precision and design? Or perhaps a young professional eager to grow in the building industry?

Important: Own transport is a must, as there is no public transport in the area.

Location: Durbanville, Cape Town

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage communication around designs and technical details of assigned projects.
2. Prepare measurement layouts and preliminary layouts as needed.
3. Develop construction drawings for production.
4. Design beam and staircase layouts.
5. Compile bending schedules and assist with other design needs.
6. Order steel for stairs, beams, and other custom items.
7. Ensure accurate, efficient, and cost-effective final layouts for casting.
8. Obtain written approvals from clients and engineers.
9. Ensure approved designs are received on time for production.
10. Track installation schedules and communicate potential delays.
11. Capture slab designs using FloorCAD and verify layouts.
12. Maintain clear communication with all relevant stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (essential).
• Some experience or strong interest in the building industry.
• Ability to handle high-pressure environments.
• 5 years of relevant experience (training available for promising young candidates).
• Strong numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Work references required.
• Own transport is non-negotiable.
