Job summary

Clicks Group Limited is seeking a Junior Demand Planner to ensure accurate demand forecasting and optimized inventory for assigned categories within a retail environment in Cape Town. The role involves partnering with Category Managers on pre-season plans and monitoring inventory and forecast performance.

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma or Bachelor’s in a related field, strong analytical skills, and experience in demand planning or forecasting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Purchasing/Business Management Financial/Retail Management is desirable.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Math, Decision Science, Marketing, Business, related area or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for forecast accuracy within allocated categories.
• Accountable for optimized inventory levels and minimum order quantity within allocated categories.
• Partner with Category Managers on pre-season sales, markdown, margin, and inventory plans.
• Analyze and propose top line shifts in assortment investment at category level.
• Monitor projections, inventory flow and seasonal sell-off plans; validate monthly forecast for OTB management.
• Recognize and reconcile forecast exceptions to track and manage sales against forecast.
• Determine causal factors impacting forecasts (weather, events, promotions, etc.).
• Engage stakeholders to determine trends, identify new products, evaluate risks and determine replenishment requirements.
• Generate and deliver accurate management reports; maintain key metrics to analyze forecast performance and inventory optimization.
• Analyze post-promotional data to improve future forecasts.
• Lead consensus forecast meetings with key stakeholders to enhance insights and decisions.
