Quona Capital is seeking a Junior Credit Analyst to join the Credit Underwriting team in Cape Town. You will support the credit approval process by evaluating client data and risks, preparing notes, and collaborating with the credit team to drive efficient decision-making.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce in Administration, Operations or Finance.
• 2–3 years experience in a credit environment, preferably for a financial institution.
• Familiar with CRM tools such as Zendesk.
• Ability to multitask with accuracy.
• Passionate about delivering customer experience beyond expectations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating clients’ credit data and financial data to determine risk and guide lending decisions.
• Preparing basic notes about the degree of risk in lending money to clients (credit ticketing).
• Collaborate with credit management to maintain high-quality decision-making and improve portfolio performance.
• Generate ideas and solutions to meet customer needs and ensure satisfaction.
• Handle multiple ad-hoc tasks daily with high accuracy.
• Limit customer contact to streamline in-progress credit applications and overrides when needed.
• Demonstrate understanding of the credit lifecycle, including collection processes.
• Develop a deep understanding of our lending platform to support decision-making.
• Engage in other ad-hoc projects to support team objectives.

Lula is looking for a Junior Credit Analyst to join our Credit Underwriting team. You will play an integral role in supporting and optimising our credit approval process. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluating Existing Client Data: Evaluating clients’ credit data and financial data in order to determine the degree of risk involved in lending money to them and using the data to recommend outcomes for existing clients to access their available capital facilities
• Credit Ticketing: Preparing basic notes about the degree of risk in lending money to clients
• Collaboration and continuous improvement: Work closely with the credit management team to maintain and enhance high-quality decision-making processes, with a focus on improving overall portfolio performance
• Idea Generation:Using ideas and solutions to meet customer needs ensuring that their expressed and underlying needs are satisfied
• Multitasking: Exhibit the ability to handle various ad-hoc tasks on a daily basis while maintaining a high level of accuracy
• Customer-Centric: Limited involvement with customers to streamline their in-progress credit applications. Contacting clients to do any credit underwriting overrides when needed
• Credit Lifecycle Expertise: Demonstrate a solid understanding of the credit lifecycle, including collection processes
• Platform Proficiency: Develop a deep understanding of our lending platform to ensure effective decision-making
• Ad-Hoc Projects: Be prepared to engage in other ad-hoc projects as needed to support the team's objectives

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Matric certificate or equivalent

• 2-3 years experience working in an credit environment (preferably for a financial institution) would be advantageous
• Familiar with working on CRM tools (such as Zendesk) would be advantageous
