Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated junior conveyancer to join our dynamic and fast growing law firm in either our Durban or Stellenbosch office - Please indicate your preferred location when applying.

This role is ideal for a candidate eager to build a career in conveyancing and contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of our firm with the opportunity to grow the property law department in multiple locations. This role offers an amazing opportunity for professional growth in a fast paced and dynamic law firm. The successful candidate will assist and take the lead in handling property transactions. You will be mentored by experienced professionals and play a key role in managing property transactions from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and process conveyancing documentation including sale agreements, transfer documents, and registrations
  • Liaise with clients, estate agents, banks, and the Deeds Office
  • Manage the full property transfer process from instruction to registration
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain accurate records and keep clients informed of progress
  • Conduct title deed investigations and assist with due diligence
  • Support senior conveyancers and attorneys with legal and administrative tasks

Skills and Competencies

  • Solid understanding of South African property law and conveyancing procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and conveyancing software (e.g., GhostConvey, Lexis Convey etc.)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
