Job description

WHPS is a traditional, Christian school specialising in the education of boys from Grade 0 to 7, and Pre-Prep boys and girls.

Suitable candidates are invited to apply for the following position at WHPS:

Junior Content Creator and Designer

Commencement Date: 1 September 2025

Waterkloof House Preparatory School (WHPS) is a small, close-knit school with a proud legacy and a big heart. We’re serious about raising future leaders — and we need someone who can help us share that story with the world.

We’re looking for a creative storyteller and visual thinker who’s passionate about capturing moments that matter, building real connections, and showing the world what makes WHPS extraordinary. If you know how to turn everyday school life into content that makes people pause, smile, or feel something — this could be your next chapter.

The Junior Content Creator and Designer will report to the Marketing Manager. Applications close on 17 July 2025.

What you’ll actually be doing

  • Storytelling that matters: You’ll be our in-house storyteller — capturing the joy, mischief, growth, and grit of WHPS boys throughout their school journey. Forget stock photos; think real, goosebump-inducing moments that parents, Old Boys, and future families can feel.
  • Creating content that connects: From Instagram Reels and Facebook updates to LinkedIn highlights and internal comms, you’ll craft content that builds belonging, celebrates achievement, and brings our community closer.
  • Designing experiences, not just graphics: From admissions brochures to digital campaigns and event collateral — every design you create will help shape how WHPS is experienced by the outside world.
  • Building our digital community: You’ll manage and grow our online presence — responding to messages, sparking conversations, and helping prospective families feel at home before they even walk through our gates.
  • Making data-driven magic: You’ll use insights and analytics to understand what’s working, what’s not, and where we can go next. Your creative work won’t just look good — it’ll deliver real impact.

You might be a perfect fit if you:

  • Have 2+ years of experience creating compelling visual and written content.
  • Know that the best marketing doesn’t feel like marketing — it feels like connection.
  • Are comfortable with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, WordPress, and social scheduling tools.
  • Write copy that feels human, warm, and real — not robotic or salesy.
  • Are curious about education, creativity, and child development.
  • Can juggle multiple projects, manage deadlines, and still zoom in on the details.
  • Understand how to use performance data to improve your work.
  • Have a portfolio that shows off your eye for design and your gift for storytelling.

Ready to apply?

Send us your portfolio and a short note about why WHPS’s mission speaks to you. We’d love to see content that stopped a scroll, sparked a smile, or drove real results. Show us what you’ve made — and how it made a difference. Email to workhardplaystraight@whps.co.za by Thursday, 17 July 2025.

WHPS thanks all applicants for their interest. Only shortlisted candidates will receive a reply regarding an interview. WHPS reserves the right not to fill this position. Should you not have received any reply to your application within a fortnight from the stipulated date, you may consider your application to have been unsuccessful.
