Job summary

Hitachi Energy South Africa (Pty) Ltd in Modderfontein is seeking an Associate Commissioning Engineer Lead to drive commissioning for low to medium complexity projects. You will lead commissioning activities, coordinate with the Site Manager, and ensure safety, quality, and contract compliance on site.

The role requires hands-on testing, reading protection schemes, using PCM600 software, and mentoring junior engineers. Travel, fluency in English, and lifting capability up to 35 kg are essential.

Qualifications

• Explain basic protection and control principles for feeders, transformers, busbars, capacitor banks, and generators.
• Read and follow scheme drawings to test and evaluate circuit functionality and perform fault finding.
• Be well skilled at using Hitachi test equipment software and PCM600 software.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to planning and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate installation activities with the Installation Supervisor / Site Manager.
• Implement commissioning design changes and provide mark-ups for as-built docs.
• Support risk assessments and safety procedures during commissioning.
