Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join the site development and planning team in Kimberley. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience across civil disciplines, working closely with senior engineers on land development projects.

You will assist with design, planning, and site supervision while growing technical skills within a supportive team environment in the Northern Cape region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably with exposure to site development or land planning.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD and basic engineering principles.
• Understanding of grading, drainage, and utility design concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in the design of site infrastructure, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design plans.
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, and documentation under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Perform quantity take-offs and assist with cost estimation for development projects.
• Help coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors during the project lifecycle.
• Learn and apply relevant design codes, standards, and regulations specific to land development.
