Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer to join the infrastructure projects team in Paarl, Western Cape. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in road, drainage, and site development design with senior engineers, combining office tasks and occasional site visits for a comprehensive learning experience.

Ideal candidates hold a B.Eng in Civil Engineering, have 0–3 years of relevant experience, and are eager to learn.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 0–3 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably in infrastructure or site development.
• Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD) is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of construction materials and methods.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and preparation of technical drawings and specifications for infrastructure projects.
• Conduct site visits and surveys under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Perform quantity take-offs and assist with cost estimations.
• Support the project management team with documentation and progress tracking.
• Learn and apply relevant civil engineering codes, standards, and software tools.
