Job description

Our client in Witbank is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their legal team as a Junior / Candidate Attorney on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in law and a desire to develop their legal skills in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The Junior Attorney will work closely with senior attorneys on a wide range of legal matters and will be responsible for conducting research, drafting legal documents, and providing general support to the legal team.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of legal issues.
  2. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  3. Assist with document review and discovery.
  4. Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  5. Attend depositions, hearings, and trials as needed.
  6. Assist with case management and trial preparation.
  7. Stay current on legal developments and assist with legal updates and training for the legal team.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned by senior attorneys.

Qualifications & Requirements :

  1. Finished with articles.
  2. Experience as a conveyancer.
  3. 1-2 years post admission legal experience.
  4. LLB Law Degree.
  5. Admission to the state bar in good standing.
  6. Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  9. Proficiency in legal research tools and software (E4).
  10. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
