Our client, a well-established company in the steel, roofing, or metals industry , is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join their procurement team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in purchasing and supply chain within a dynamic warehouse and factory environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Assist the senior buyer with day-to-day purchasing activities , including sourcing and ordering stock

Support the buying of steel coils, roofing materials, and sheeting

Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm delivery dates, and track orders

Maintain accurate purchase records and update internal systems

Coordinate with warehouse and factory teams to monitor stock levels and manage reordering

Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials

Help manage supplier relationships and evaluate performance

Requirements :

Preferably 1–2 years’ experience in a buying or procurement support role, ideally within the steel, roofing, or metals industry

Matric (Grade 12) is essential; a relevant qualification in procurement or supply chain is an advantage

Strong administrative and organizational skills

Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP or procurement systems

Ability to work well in a fast-paced, factory and warehouse setting
