The role involves ensuring accurate supplier pricing, effective coordination with suppliers, and maintaining procurement documentation. This position is integral to the production process, requiring timely and accurate execution of procurement tasks.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years’ experience in procurement, buying, or finance support.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and skilled in email communication.
  • Experience with procurement systems is advantageous.

Job description

Purpose of the Role

To support the Finance and Planning Departments by ensuring accurate supplier pricing, alignment to the approved Bill of Materials (BOM), and the timely procurement and delivery of parts and components essential to the production process.

Key Responsibilities

1. Price Verification & BOM Alignment

  • Validate all supplier quotes and invoices against the approved BOM pricing.
  • Investigate and escalate any unauthorized price increases or discrepancies.
  • Maintain a pricing matrix and change log in coordination with the Planning and Procurement Teams.

2. Purchase Order Support & Follow-Up

  • Assist the Planning Department in raising timely purchase requisitions and orders.
  • Ensure that supplier purchase orders reflect agreed pricing, quantities, and specifications.
  • Track outstanding orders and follow up to ensure timely delivery.
  • Escalate delays or procurement risks to the relevant departments.

3. Supplier Coordination & Delivery Monitoring

  • Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, lead times, and part availability.
  • Ensure parts are delivered to the correct site (Durban, Johannesburg, Uitenhage) as per production need.
  • Record and flag delivery issues, shortages, or quality concerns.

4. Administrative Support

  • Maintain procurement records and documentation in accordance with Finance controls.
  • Work closely with Finance for invoice verification and matching.
  • Assist with periodic supplier reviews and audits.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Certificate or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field (advantageous)
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a procurement, buying, or finance support role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and email communication
  • Experience with ERP or procurement systems (advantageous)

Working Conditions

  • Based at SA Van Conversions Durban site
  • Standard working hours with occasional overtime depending on project urgency
  • Interaction with all three SA Van Conversion manufacturing sites and the procurement/warehouse team
