We are recruiting for a Junior Buyer to join a growing defence and engineering manufacturer based in Centurion. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career who has strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will support procurement activities, liaise with suppliers, and ensure efficient purchasing processes in a fast-paced technical environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Source and compare quotations from local and international suppliers
  • Place and follow up on purchase orders
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and components
  • Assist in evaluating supplier performance and maintaining good supplier relationships
  • Track and manage stock levels and inventory
  • Support senior procurement staff with ad hoc administrative and operational tasks

Experience and Qualifications

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a procurement, sales, or purchasing support role
  • A relevant diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Business (advantageous)
  • Strong administrative and communication skills
  • Able to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel essential)
  • Must have own reliable transport
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive mindset
  • Experience in a technical or manufacturing environment will be an advantage
