Job Description

Meridian Wine Merchants is seeking a Junior Business Information Analyst based in Gauteng to support its national sales team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a passion for data, systems, and business intelligence within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include :
  • Design, create, and maintain monthly reports for sales performance tracking.
  • Report on sales performance across channels using metrics which include numeric measures, quantitative and qualitative reporting.
  • Report on performance versus the market, identifying gaps and opportunities.
  • Work with internal role players to develop innovative plans for growth based on data learnings.
  • Maintain internal databases.
  • Support with assorted data checks and ad hoc requests as required.
  • Assist Line Manager with ad hoc projects.
  • Ensure continuous development and up-to-date industry knowledge and competence.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively anticipate and manage organisational change.
  • Ensure all operating policies and procedures adhere to the QMS framework and are successfully executed.
  • Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained.
  • Plan and prioritize, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands.
Qualifications and Experience :
  • Diploma or Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Informatics, Marketing or Finance.
  • 1 year or more experience in analytics reporting and master data management (Excel skills preferred).
  • Wine, liquor, or FMCG industry experience is beneficial.
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency essential.
  • PBI and Tableau skills beneficial.
  • Exceptional analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
