Job description

A well-established international chemical raw material company is seeking a dedicated professional to maintain strong relationships with existing key accounts within the Pharmaceutical manufacturing and related Nutraceutical industries on a national basis.

Position Details:

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • A tertiary qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Previous experience in a sales role supplying chemical raw materials to the pharmaceutical manufacturing or nutraceutical industry is essential.
  • The company is open to candidates who are internal salespersons or junior pharmacists looking to transition into an external sales role.

Responsibilities of the successful candidate:

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing key accounts within the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry on a national basis.
  • Promote chemical raw materials in the pharmaceutical manufacturing markets and identify potential business opportunities nationally.
  • Participate in regular feedback sessions on various projects and manage customer expectations.
  • Handle price negotiations and product management, relay market information to management and suppliers to stay competitive in South Africa's current economic climate.
  • Set and pursue budget targets and sales objectives.
  • Identify new potential customers and ensure volume growth per product.
  • Present sales reports to senior management.
  • Implement customer retention strategies to develop sustainable, high-quality relationships with external customers.
  • Manage stock forecasting to ensure product availability for customers.
