Clover has a great opportunity for a detail-oriented, results-driven, and highly motivated Junior Business Controller to join the Finance department.
This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional eager to advance their career within a fast-paced and supportive environment. The successful individual will support business units (BU's) by compiling business cases for approval of EXCO and managing the financial aspects of implementing initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide budget support to the assigned brand team, guiding in budget inputs, developing, and validating monthly product sales volumes and pricing based on past performance, budget parameters, and market conditions.
- Review and validate advertising budgets by activity and phasing throughout the year.
- Support the validation of BOMs (by SKU) loaded into the budget system.
- Meet all finance timetable deadlines for budget inputs, milestones, and presentations.
- Assist in preparing financial analysis on budget outcomes versus latest estimates, including volume, price, mix analysis down to MOM level, fixed costs, tariff allocation, and overall profitability.
- Escalate anomalies and have errors corrected promptly.
- Assist with budget presentations to Clover SA senior management.
- Perform monthly management accounts duties, verifying sales cube accuracy at month-end.
- Support analysis and presentation of brand and regional income statements.
- Analyze and present quarterly profitability accounts by SKU, investigating anomalies.
- Explain variances on income statements compared to prior year and budget, presenting findings to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with contracts related to partners and co-packers.
- Calculate pricing for tenders, special deals, and new business opportunities.
- Set financial objectives for product costs for the PT&T team.
- Provide daily financial support to Brand Teams for timely decision-making.
- Prepare and present monthly product group income statements and marketing expenditure reports.
- Calculate ROI for marketing investments.
- Provide financial advice on protocols, assist auditors, and support ad-hoc requests from EXCO.
Requirements
- Relevant university qualification.
- Fluent in Business English.
- Intermediate computer literacy.
- Experience applying job-related concepts, techniques, and processes.
- Experience in an FMCG environment is advantageous.
