Job description

To support in all activities related to the Brand Management of more than 20 brands in the Southern Africa region.

The Junior Brand Manager supports on all aspects related to the brand plans and marketing activities.

BRAND MANAGEMENT

  • Develop and maintain brands and their positioning within the competitive landscape to be able to coordinate portfolio and channel strategy.
  • Monitor sell-in and sell-out performances, collecting markets' feedback, analysing trends and competitors strategies to identify new opportunities or areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to business and marketing plan development, adapting the global strategy to local needs and culture.
  • Assist and support in excellent execution of marketing strategies that aim to actively increase brand awareness and market share across a wide portfolio of brands.
  • Aid in the development of the annual marketing plan and budget.
  • Ongoing management and reporting of marketing activity and budget.
  • Assist in attaining strategic objectives.
  • Engage and collaborate with the Sales Team / Trade Marketing to develop appropriate tools to drive sales and brand resonance at store level : Instore Promotions, Incentives, Brand Visibility, Training.
  • B2B brand communications to wholesale customer.
  • Ongoing competitor and market intelligence.
  • Support sales team with requirements
  • Assist with consumer and internal events
  • Support with brand building via influencer marketing, content creation and brand marketing
  • Assist with localizing global marketing strategies ie. Develop local campaigns based on needs
  • Manage Social Media monitoring and reporting across key brands
  • Operational support with key internal stakeholders
  • Liaise with senior marketing team to understand marketing goals and objectives
  • Work with broader business team to develop and implement marketing strategies
  • Assist in the preparation of marketing presentation and reports for local / corporate brand reviews

COMMUNICATION

  • Partner closely with trade, training and corporate team. Assist and support the brands communication to end consumer : ATL Media, Content, Digital, Social, PR, Activations in liaison with global team, local agencies and within budgetary allocations.
  • Develop and sustain relationships with decision makers, advertisers and other relevant media.
  • Effectively negotiate with sponsors and partners
  • Coordinate PR projects and liaise with PR Agencies.
  • Develop and maintain Brand Ambassador and influencers relationships.
  • Be on the pulse for the latest trends and local brand insights.

Technical Skills, Professional Knowledge and Discipline

3 years experience in Marketing, Branding or Sales

Valid Drivers Licence and Own Vehicle

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business or similar

Ability to prioritize tasks and to manage efficiently time / resources to optimize the activities in a

dynamic environment and diversified portfolio.

The ability to define and implement actions that follow the global guidelines and consider the short- and long-term view and the characteristics of the local market environment.

Ability to analyse, interpret and effectively communicate business data

Analytically strong with advanced Microsoft office proficiency, especially PowerPoint and Excel.

Establish and develop mutually beneficial and trusting business relationships with key internal /

external stakeholders.

Generate, inspire and explore new and relevant ideas by thinking out-of-the-box.

Knowledge and ability to effectively use different brand communication tools such as advertising,

online marketing, public relations activities, direct marketing, sales campaigns to promote brands, to

reach a wider audience.

Drive for results and leaderships skills.

Excellent understanding of the full marketing mix.

Highly creative with ability to think out of box.

Experience in identifying target audiences and devising campaigns that engage, inform and motivate.

Proven ability to assist in developing brand and marketing strategies and effectively communicate

recommendations.

Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.

Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.

Up to date with the latest trends and marketing best practices.

Comfortable working with numbers, metrics and spreadsheets.

Excellent command of the English language.
