Job Title: Junior Bookkeeper
We are seeking an experienced and deadline-driven Junior Bookkeeper to support a busy finance team with bookkeeping and administrative duties.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Debtors:
- Generate pro-forma invoices, tax invoices, credit notes, and customer statements
- Check sub-contractor and employee expense claims and compile recharge invoices
- Allocate deposits from customers
- Maintain customer master files and customer database
- Reconcile customer accounts
- Maintain constant communication with customers and oversee outstanding debt collection
- Creditors:
- Process supplier invoices and employee expenses, controlling against company policies
- Communicate with suppliers, sub-contractors, and employees regarding invoices and expenses
- Maintain supplier master files and supplier database
- Sort, file, and scan supplier documentation, keeping the electronic filing system organized
- Administration:
- Support administrative duties
- Assist with travel arrangements – booking accommodation and car rentals
- Answer telephone inquiries
Desired Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
- Recognized tertiary bookkeeping qualification (minimum)
- At least 5 years of proven hands-on experience in a finance department within a corporate environment in a bookkeeping role
- Experience in the service industry is advantageous
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, and Microsoft Office
- Experience with accounting software such as Sage
- Experience in the certification and inspection industry (e.g., Global GAP, BRC, FSSC, Siza) is a plus
- Understanding of VAT and accounting principles
