We are looking for a Junior Bookkeeper / Medical Biller who is sharp with numbers, organized, and confident using spreadsheets to help manage and reconcile our billing process. You'll work closely with our billing department to ensure no claims are missed or mishandled. While medical billing experience is not required, you'll need to be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable guiding clients through Medicaid-related processes. This role also involves working with clients who have Medicaid, some of whom are missing their home care benefit. You'll support them by submitting required forms, following up with Medicaid, and helping navigate the application process from start to finish.
Responsibilities:
Assist in overseeing billing processes to ensure all claims are submitted accurately and completely
Reconcile billing records and identify any errors or omissions
Track claims, payments, and outstanding issues using spreadsheets and digital tools
Guide clients in submitting applications for Medicaid home care benefits
Follow up regularly with Medicaid and applicants to ensure forms are processed correctly
Maintain organized records of billing and client communications
Collaborate with the billing team to streamline processes and maintain accuracy
Requirements:
Strong math and spreadsheet skills (Excel/Google Sheets proficiency preferred)
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
Excellent follow-up and communication skills (phone and email)
Empathetic and patient when working with clients
Tech-savvy and comfortable navigating digital systems
Bonus Points For:
Experience with Medicaid or public assistance programs
Familiarity with bookkeeping software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)
Prior experience in a support, billing, or client service role
