Overview

R14 000 Monthly (dependent on experience). We are seeking a Junior Bookkeeper for a permanent role based in East London, Eastern Cape.

Qualifications

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12, with a finance related qualification advantageous
  • Proficiency in MS Office as well as a financial based system
  • 2+ years’ experience in finance & payroll assistance as well as preparation of financial reports, together with general admin duties – legal industry preferred
  • Strong communication skills, and valid drivers
  • Ability to work as member of a team
Responsibilities
  • Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Assist with monthly bank and trust account reconciliations
  • Maintain and reconcile petty cash and expense reports
  • Assist with payroll processing, if required
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with law society trust accounting rules
  • Prepare financial reports for management as needed
  • Support the senior bookkeeper with audits, month end & year-end procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and client information at all times
  • Taking minutes in management meetings
  • Assist with FIC requirements
  • Support the day-to-day administrative operations of the office, including procurement of office supplies and equipment, coordinating building maintenance, and assisting with general improvements to the office environment
Salary

Salary: R14 000 per month (dependent on experience).
