Overview

Somerset West - A professional accounting and consulting firm is seeking to employ a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Bookkeeper / Admin Assistant to join their small team ASAP. The successful candidate will support their finance and compliance operations through accurate bookkeeping, efficient administration, and assisting the senior team with client deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
  • Processing day-to-day bookkeeping entries (bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, journals)
  • Capturing invoices, receipts, and payments on accounting software (Xero / Sage)
  • Assisting with VAT, PAYE, and other SARS submissions
  • Preparing and maintaining supporting schedules for monthly and year-end reporting
  • Filing, document management, and general office administration
  • Assisting senior accountants with client-related tasks, reconciliations, and ad hoc projects
  • Managing correspondence with clients, suppliers, and service providers where required
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • Minimum: Matric with Accounting.
  • Advantageous: Bookkeeping / Accounting diploma or similar studies in progress
  • 1–2 years’ experience in bookkeeping or admin within an accounting/finance environment preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with Xero, Sage, or Pastel advantageous
