Junior Bookkeeper

Duties:

1. Full accounting function up to Trial Balance;
2. Debtors and Creditors reconciliation;
3. Upload of payments to Bank;
4. Cash book management and review;
5. Payroll calculations and processing;
6. Reconciliation of general ledger accounts on a monthly basis;
7. Statutory returns (EMP501/EMP201/VAT201) (preparation and submission);
8. Rental calculations and monthly tenant billing;
9. Interaction with managers at branch level.

Competencies:

1. Computer Literate MS Office (Excel (intermediate));
2. Accounting Packages (Pastel Accounting and Payroll);
3. SARS e-filing experience;
4. Should be able to work independently and in a team environment;
5. Responsible (organise/analyse/prioritise);
6. Prides themselves on a strong work ethic;
7. Not a clock watcher and deadline driven;
8. Perform under pressure;
9. Accurate and meticulous;
10. Resilient.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Relevant tertiary education in accounting (a suitable degree/diploma);
2. Solid verbal and written communication skills in English and Afrikaans;
3. Valid driver’s licence and own transport;
4. Must reside in the Northern Suburbs.
