The Junior Bookkeeper will be responsible for processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, tracking transactions, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. You will ensure that the company's accounts are up-to-date and in compliance with relevant regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
Reconcile bank statements and track daily financial transactions.
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Support the finance team with the preparation of budgets and cashflow forecasts.
Process and track transactions, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Help ensure compliance with financial regulations and industry standards.
Assist with audit preparations and documentation as needed.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and creditors.
Reconcile between operating system and accounting system.
Assist in the preparation of credit applications.
REQUIREMENTS
South African citizen.
Code B driver's license and own transport.
Degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field.
2-3 years of work-related skills and experience in the Clearing & Forwarding / supply chain industry.
Previous experience in bookkeeping or finance is required.
SAIPA articles would be advantageous.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel). Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
The proposed salary for the role is R25k - R30k per month, but the option remains with the client to offer any market-related salary considering the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
