Job Description
A company in the renewable energy industry is looking for a reliable and detail-driven Junior Bookkeeper to support the Finance Manager and Ops team with day-to-day financial tasks, general bookkeeping duties, and operational checks. This role is ideal for someone with strong admin skills and who enjoys working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping and Financial Admin:

  • Capture supplier invoices and process customer invoices
  • Perform bank, credit card, and petty cash reconciliations
  • Assist with debtors and creditors management
  • Maintain up-to-date financial records and filing systems
  • Assist with payroll inputs and monthly journals
  • Assist with stock recons and counts
  • Manage returns and internal processes relating to stock movements
  • Create new stock codes and manage basic spreadsheets requested by the Finance Manager and Directors

Operational Finance Support:

  • Reconcile stock movement reports with accounting system
  • Conduct checks on delivery notes, supplier payments, and purchase orders
  • Support inventory and cost control reconciliations
  • Liaise with operations and sales teams to ensure transactional accuracy

Support to Finance Manager:

  • Assist in preparation of reports and analysis for management accounts
  • Flag discrepancies and raise issues requiring review
  • Help maintain internal controls and process documentation
  • Provide general administrative support to finance functions


Requirements

  • Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance
  • 1-2 years' bookkeeping or accounting experience (retail or distribution environment an advantage)
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software (previous experience with inventory management software like Cin7 or Unleashed will be advantageous)
  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
