Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking a CA(SA) for a quality and risk role within the audit practice in South Africa. You will support the System of Quality Management, participate in file reviews, and assist with engagement file assembly and regulator reviews. Strong ISQM 1/2, IRBA Code, and IFRS knowledge are essential.

You will coordinate IRBA fee declarations, assist with training needs, and contribute to software and working papers development, while liaising with partners and senior staff.

Qualifications

• Registered CA(SA) with no-negotiable requirement.
• Minimum 2 years post-articles experience in audit.
• Solid knowledge of ISQM 1/2 and IRBA Code.
• Strong IFRS/IFRS for SMEs understanding.

Responsibilities

• Assist with execution, implementation and monitoring of the Quality Management System.
• Review audit files and assess compliance with standards and regulations.
• Support engagement file assembly and retention processes.
• Coordinate IRBA fee declarations and related processes.
• Support client acceptance and continuance procedures.
• Perform ISQM monitoring and quality control reviews.
• Assist with technical accounting and auditing queries for partners.
• Identify training needs from quality reviews and help deliver training.
• Contribute to development of audit software and standard working papers.
• Assist with internal and external reviews including IRBA inspections.
• Prepare quality-related regulator reporting and audit network updates.
• Attend quality, risk and compliance meetings and drive improvements.

• Assist with the execution, implementation, and monitoring of the firm's System of Quality Management
• Perform audit file reviews and evaluate compliance with firm standards and regulatory requirements
• Assist with engagement file assembly and retention processes
• Manage and coordinate the IRBA fee declaration process
• Support client acceptance and continuance procedures
• Perform ISQM monitoring procedures and quality control reviews
• Assist partners and managers with technical accounting and auditing queries
• Identify training needs arising from quality reviews and assist with preparing and delivering technical training
• Support the development and enhancement of audit software and standard working papers
• Assist with internal and external firm reviews, including network and IRBA inspections
• Prepare quality-related reporting for regulators and the broader audit network
• Attend quality, risk, and compliance meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years' post-articles experience within an audit environment
• Strong working knowledge of ISQM 1 & 2 and the IRBA Code
• Expert knowledge of International Standards on Auditing (ISA)
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and IFRS for SMEs
• Passion for technical auditing, quality management, and professional standards
• Comfortable interacting with senior staff, directors, and partners
• Experience with CaseWare, Excel, Word, Pastel, and Outlook
• GreatSoft experience - advantageous
