Placements24 in George, Western Cape, is seeking a Junior Air Traffic Controller to join our aviation operations team. You will monitor radar, communicate with Pilots, issue clearances, and support safety across air and ground movements.

The role requires a valid Air Traffic Controller license, the ability to stay calm under pressure, strong spatial reasoning, and fluent English. You will work rotating shifts, complete ongoing training, and participate in safety and procedural integrity.

Qualifications

• Requires an Air Traffic Controller license and relevant certifications.
• Ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive under pressure.
• Excellent spatial reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Monitor radar displays and communication systems to track aircraft and manage airspace efficiently.
• Issue clearances and instructions to pilots to ensure safe separation of aircraft in flight and on the ground.
• Communicate effectively with pilots, ground personnel, and other air traffic control units.
• Respond rapidly to emergency situations and coordinate necessary actions to ensure safety.
• Adhere strictly to all established air traffic control procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Participate in continuous training and skill development to maintain certification and proficiency.
