Job summary

COREcruitment seeks a Junior Accountant for a permanent full-time role in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa. The position involves maintaining accurate financial records, processing high-volume transactions, and supporting month-end reporting in a hospitality group.

Requirements include a Diploma/ Degree in Accounting (Masters advantageous), 3+ years of relevant experience, SA tax/VAT knowledge, and strong Excel and accounting software skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting or related field; postgraduate masters advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant financial accounting experience.
• Expert knowledge of South African Tax and VAT legislation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software systems.
• Strong reconciliation and month-end reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Capture supplier invoices and reconcile against purchase orders; prepare payment schedules.
• Perform month-end bank, supplier, customer and general ledger reconciliations and POS reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries and schedules for month-end reporting; assist with audit preparation.
• Liaise with outlets, stores, internal departments and vendors to resolve account queries.
