Job summary

Isilumko Staffing is seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join a dynamic on-site team in Gauteng. The role focuses on building strong fundamentals in bank reconciliations, general ledger support, and financial reporting within a reputable finance organization.

You will engage in journal entries, month-end close, and audit support while developing your accounting career in a collaborative environment focused on precision and integrity.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1–3 years' experience in a Junior Accountant or similar finance role.
• Proven experience performing bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and process journal entries.
• Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items and financial discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Perform general finance and administrative duties as required.
