Job Description
The Junior Accountant/Bookkeeper will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing support to the accounting team. This hybrid position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bookkeeping activities including recording financial transactions and maintaining the general ledger
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely manner
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Prepare and file financial reports and statements
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation
  • Participate in audit preparations and provide necessary documentation
  • Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and procedures
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (bachelor's degree preferred)
  • Completed SAIPA learnership, preferred
  • 2-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage Evolution, or similar platforms)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive financial information
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
