Red Ember Recruitment is currently seeking a Junior Accountant for a reputable organisation in the short-term insurance sector, based in Tygervalley, Cape Town. The role focuses on the full accounting function up to trial balance and reconciliations, within a deadline-driven finance team.

The successful candidate will have at least one year of working experience and a degree in accounting. This position offers development opportunities in a growing finance department.

Competenze

• Accounting degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year's relevant working experience.
• Experience within the financial services industry is advantageous.

Mansioni

• Prepare, process and capture journals.
• Handle importing, exporting and processing transactions up to trial balance.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Process Electronic Funds Transfers (EFTs).
• Reconcile income and payments with bank statements.
• Ensure accurate account, cost centre and company allocations.
• Check and verify invoices for accuracy.
• Respond to financial queries and resolve discrepancies.
• Work collaboratively within a finance team to meet deadlines.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting graduate with at least one year of working experience to join a deadline-driven finance team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing the full accounting function up to trial balance, assisting with reconciliations, processing financial transactions and ensuring accurate financial allocations.

• Prepare, process and capture journals.
