Junior Accountant

Position: Junior Accountant

This is a full-time role reporting to the Business Manager. The responsibilities include:

1. Daily reconciliation of bank statements
2. Assisting with creditors and debtors, with experience in reconciliations
3. Maintaining accurate financial records up to Trial Balance and preparing all month-end reconciliations for reporting
4. Completing Monthly Management Accounts by the 10th of each month
5. Assisting with payroll processing and maintaining HR records
6. Maintaining the fixed asset register, calculating monthly depreciation, and posting relevant journals
7. Monitoring budget performance
8. Assisting with cash flow forecasts, budgets, and SARS return submissions
9. Supporting external audits by providing documentation and explanations of financial transactions
10. Assisting with the implementation of new accounting systems
11. Staying updated on industry best practices, financial regulations, and software tools

Skills and Qualifications:

• BCom Accounting degree with completed SAIPA articles
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS for SMEs Accounting Standard
• Proficiency in Pastel Accounting & Payroll
• High attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and analytical thinking
• Professional demeanor, assertiveness, and energy
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Self-motivated and team-oriented attitude
