SUMMARY : Accountant

POSITION INFO : Responsibilities :

• Financial Reporting : Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts, monitoring variances, and providing analysis to support decision-making.
• Tax Compliance : Ensure compliance with all tax regulations, including the timely submission of tax returns and payments.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable : Oversee the accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoicing, payments, and collections.
• General Ledger Management : Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and investigate discrepancies.
• Financial Analysis : Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
• Internal Controls : Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
• Audit Preparation : Assist in the preparation of internal and external audits, liaising with auditors as required.

Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

5 years of experience in the logistics industry

Proficiency in SAGE Accounting software.

Advanced Excel skills, i.e. V LOOK UP and Pivot tables

Strong understanding of South African tax regulations and accounting standards.
