This global insurance and reinsurance brokerage is recognized for expertly delivering solutions on large and complex risk placements across Africa and internationally. They are looking for a Junior Accountant to support their finance function based in Johannesburg. This role involves full-spectrum accounting exposure across several group entities, including insurance, reinsurance, and investment holding structures. Given the nature of the business, experience in insurance accounting and handling multi-currency transactions is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Capture and process financial transactions in Pastel Partner across local and offshore entities
• Perform bank reconciliations (including multi-currency accounts)
• Load and manage international and local payments via online banking platforms
• Conduct accurate forex revaluations and assist with month-end close processes
• Manage underwriter payments, prepare Bordereaux reports, and perform reconciliations
• Collaborate with broking and tech teams to align financial systems
• Support year-end audit procedures and assist with audit packs
• Recover aged debtors and assist with finance-linked HR admin (payslips, IRP5s, etc.)

Candidate Profile:

• Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Finance
• Minimum 3 years’ experience, preferably in a smaller, high-growth business with global exposure
• Solid experience in insurance or reinsurance accounting is non-negotiable
• Strong technical skills in Pastel Partner and Excel
• Independent, deadline-driven and comfortable in a changing, fast-paced environment
• Proven experience in forex revaluations and multi-currency bank reconciliations
