Junior Accountant

Our client, a progressive and fast-paced chemical supply and distribution company, seeks to employ a Junior Accountant, who has completed Articles and is seeking a career opportunity in the manufacturing or distribution sector.

Please note this is not a senior role but rather a role for a junior accountant, who has completed Articles and has gained experience using SAGE, which is a non-negotiable criterion. In addition, only candidates resident in the Johannesburg region will be initially considered.

POSITION INFO:

KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

1. You will have completed a BComm plus Articles, coupled with 1-2 years of experience in the full accounting function within either the manufacturing, engineering, or distribution sector.
2. Expert proficiency in SAGE accounting software and advanced Excel is not negotiable.
3. You must have solid knowledge of GAAP and IFRS legislation/regulations, as well as knowledge of taxation for multiple entities.
4. A thorough understanding of financial statements, forecasts, budget compilations, VAT, and oversight of cash flow.
5. Experience in foreign exchange transactions is highly advantageous.
6. You must have a valid driver’s license, own car, and a clear criminal and credit record.
