The Junior Accountant will support the finance team by performing a variety of financial and accounting tasks.

This role involves assisting with bookkeeping, managing accounts, reconciling financial data, and supporting the preparation of financial reports.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
  2. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  3. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  4. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  5. Prepare journal entries and assist with account reconciliations.
  6. Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
  7. Assist with the preparation of tax filings and reports.
  8. Provide support during audits and liaise with auditors as necessary.
  9. Assist in the management of cash flow and bank reconciliations.
  10. Perform other accounting tasks as assigned by senior staff.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  2. 0-2 years of accounting experience (internships or part-time roles will be considered).
  3. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  4. CIPC Knowledge - Advantageous.
