The Junior Accountant will support the finance team by performing a variety of financial and accounting tasks.
This role involves assisting with bookkeeping, managing accounts, reconciling financial data, and supporting the preparation of financial reports.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Prepare journal entries and assist with account reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with the preparation of tax filings and reports.
- Provide support during audits and liaise with auditors as necessary.
- Assist in the management of cash flow and bank reconciliations.
- Perform other accounting tasks as assigned by senior staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 0-2 years of accounting experience (internships or part-time roles will be considered).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- CIPC Knowledge - Advantageous.
