Junior Accountant

Junior Accountant (POS)

Location: Northcliffe, Randburg

Salary: R 25 to R 30 per month

Job Purpose: Accountants perform a variety of duties, including analyzing financial data, preparing financial statements, and creating budgets. They also ensure compliance with legal requirements and accounting standards.

Requirements:

1. BCom Accounting degree is required.
2. Proven experience in assisting with the completion of financial statements.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
4. Proficiency in accounting software (Pastel or similar) and MS Excel.
5. Previous experience in VAT and tax compliance is advantageous.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
9. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Duties:

1. Financial reporting: Prepare financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
2. Report on financial performance.
3. Analyze financial data to identify trends and assess risks.
4. Budgeting and forecasting.
5. Taxation: Prepare and file tax returns for a company.
6. Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements, produce and provide statements, accounts, and reports to regulatory bodies, stock exchanges, and other relevant stakeholders.
7. Auditing.
8. Financial analysis.
