Job Purpose :

Accountants perform a variety of duties, including analyzing financial data, preparing financial statements, and creating budgets. They also ensure compliance with legal requirements and accounting standards.

Requirements :

• BCom Accounting degree is required.
• Proven experience in assisting with the completion of financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software Pastel or similar and MS Excel.
• Previous experience in VAT and tax compliance is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Duties :

• Financial reporting: Prepare financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Report on financial performance.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and assess risks.
• Budgeting and forecasting.
• Taxation: Prepare and file tax returns for a company.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legal requirements, produce and provide statements, accounts, and reports to regulatory bodies, stock exchanges, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Auditing.
• Financial analysis.
