Job description

Our Junior Accountant will have the following responsibilities :

Finance responsibilities
  • Perform general duties including, but not limited to, data entry, petty cash management, assist on bank reconciliation.
  • Analysis and booking of invoices to be completed for payment.
  • Complete and compile Cash flow template.
  • Be in a daily contact with the departments to ensure PO’s and request of payment are consistent with Group policy and procedures to ensure accuracy;
  • Reconcile suppliers accounts.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process.
  • Assistance in proper control of the supporting documents for payments and financial reports, payment execution and monitoring payment status.
  • Provide administrative support in documentation of accounting processes and all other accounting documentation.
  • Liaise with service providers for accounting, tax and payroll.
  • Assisting other staff with any accounting or financial support relating to the projects being undertaken by the Group.
  • Perform ad-hoc work or support as required by Manager(s).
  • Preparation of payment instructions for local and foreign service providers, group entities;
  • Bank reconciliation and monitoring on a monthly basis;
  • Preparation of the documents for tax declarations;
  • Administrative : Maintenance of files and records relevant to corporate secretary.

Education and Technical Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Knowledge and experience in administrative, financial accounting and full range of office support work, with a high level of sustained performance.
  • South African national or valid work permit for South Africa.
  • Fluency in English and is mandatory, knowledge of other local languages and French is a plus.

  • Strong written and verbal skills, as well as effective communication.
